MTC Youth RanchProgram Facilities

Recreation Center- Our Indoor Recreation Center provides the troubled teens of Mount Carmel Youth Ranch the opportunity to still enjoy some healthy competition and sports activities when the weather doesn’t allow. The Recreation Center is equipped with a basketball court, wrestling mats, a boxing ring, exercise machines, and free weights. Furthermore, a number of Mount Carmel Staff have years of training in sport fields such as Olympic strength training and conditioning, competitive bodybuilding, boxing, and wrestling. The staff members of Mount Carmel are enthusiastic about maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle and encourage the stuggling teens to do so as well. The young men are encouraged to create and maintain their own workout regimen through staff guidance and participation. The staff members also administer monthly log books so the youth can monitor and document their results and progress.

Mt Carmel Youth Ranch Indoor Vocational Training & Equestrian Center: This large building project was made possible a generous grant from the Daniels Fund and by the donation of building materials from Cody Lumber.This outcome from the building of an indoor Equestrian Center for the young men attending the therapeutic program for at risk teens at Mount Carmel Youth Ranch has been very positive. The outcome has met and exceeded our intended goals as follows:
Activities the building is currently providing for our students include Equine Therapy, horse training, natural horsemanship, reining classes, roping practice (including other rodeo type events) horse shoeing etc. This building provides an indoor arena that will facilitate training and education in all aspects of Bovine and Equine management year round.
Veterinarian clinic: provides an ideal indoor environment for training in basic cattle management and veterinary assistant skills. The Vet clinic provides many hands-on learning experiences in the medical field as well as biology sciences. Each time that we have to doctor an animal (horses cattle, dogs, cats ect.) the young men at MTC are given the opportunity to learn from direct experience with a Veterinary Doctor and experienced ranch staff. MTC boy’s are given experience in pregnancy testing, semen testing, A.I., grafting bum calves to mother cow, embryo transfers, assisting in cow Ce-sections, birthing, and sick animal treatment, these are just a few of the educational opportunities provided by the indoor vet clinic.

A Life Changing Experience for struggling troubled teens, parents and the entire family.

Our Bunkhouse:The troubled teen will stay in the large spacious "Bunkhouse" during their stay at MYCYR. This house offer a warm and inviting atmoshpere that does not have a steril our clininc feel to it at all. Equipped with a commercial grade Kitchen to facilitate cooking for many hung teenage boys, and a dinning room that models a family style setting for all. The Bunkhouse has a upstairs classrom that is open and looks over the family room. The family room has a pictched roof with many windows that offer an incredible view of the Beartooth and Sunlight mountain range. The Young men have 4 large bedrooms that are shared by three boys each. The Bunkhouse was built in 1997 and was made possible by a generous donation from the Deen Studer family Trust.

Our Frontier program is located on a remote area of our rural ranch in "back to basics style" buildings without any frills. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations for your son in a resort like setting this is not the place to send him.

If you want your son to appreciate and not take for granted what has been provided for him by you, then our Ranch is the place to help him grow in appreciation and thanksgiving for all that he has received in his life. Young men that engage in our program leave here with a deeper respect for authority, self-discipline, and a new work ethic that will help them be successful in holding down a job or going to college.
